Grumichama Black Fruit Tree PLANT (Eugenia brasiliensis) – Delicious Cherry-Like Berries
Discover the exotic taste of the Grumichama! This beautiful evergreen shrub or small tree produces an abundance of stunning, dark purple to black berries. Renowned for their rich, sweet flavour, these delectable fruits are often compared to cherries in both size and taste.
Enjoy the versatile berries fresh off the tree, or use them in smoothies, milkshakes, fruit salads, jams, jellies, and baked goods. They can also be frozen or dehydrated for long-term storage. Beyond their delicious flavour, Grumichama berries are a nutritional powerhouse, packed with antioxidants, Vitamins A and C, and essential minerals.

Planting & Growing Tips
-
Initial Care: Upon arrival, give your plant a good drink and place it in a partially shaded, sheltered spot. Allow it to acclimatise in its original pot for a few days before transplanting.
-
Transplanting: Re-pot or plant into the garden when roots begin to emerge from the drainage holes. Water thoroughly immediately after planting.
-
Position: Prefers a well-drained position, as it does not like to sit in water. It grows best in full sun to partial shade and adapts to many soil types, though it will thrive in richer, well-draining soil. Slightly raised garden beds are ideal.
-
Watering: Water regularly after planting until established, then as required.
Additional Notes
-
Sun Acclimatisation: Our nursery plants are grown in semi-shade. To prevent sun shock, gradually introduce them to more sun over a week before planting them in their permanent position.
