Strawberry Guava Seeds – Red Cherry Guava – Cattley Guava (Psidium cattelianum)
Introducing the prolific and delicious Strawberry Guava! This highly ornamental shrub produces a bounty of round, dark red fruits with a sweet, aromatic flavour that perfectly blends notes of strawberry, passionfruit, and mint. It’s a vigorous and generous producer, offering multiple harvests throughout the year. Packed with vitamin C (often more than an orange!), dietary fibre, and antioxidants. This superfruit supports immune health, digestion, and overall wellness. It’s a truly healthy snack grown right in your garden.
Renowned for its incredible ease and resilience, the Strawberry Guava is a must-have for any edible garden. It thrives with minimal fuss, adapting to various conditions while rewarding you with mouth-watering fruit.
Why You’ll Love It:
Exquisite & Unique Flavor – Enjoy the sweet, tangy taste of the vibrant red pulp, a celebrated tropical flavour often described as a blend of strawberry and passionfruit with a refreshing, minty undertone.
Exceptionally Prolific Producer – Known for its heavy yields, this vigorous plant can produce multiple crops per year, ensuring a steady supply of unique fruit for your family.
- Adaptable to Many Climates – While a tropical plant at heart, it is surprisingly cold-hardy and will thrive in a range of climates. It grows successfully in subtropical regions and will even fruit in a warm, protected position in the temperate zones of Australia.
Superior Resilience & Hardiness – Incredibly drought-tolerant, cold-hardy (for a guava), and naturally resistant to pests and diseases. It’s one of the toughest and most low-maintenance fruit trees you can grow.
Perfect for Small Spaces & Pots – Its naturally bushy, compact growth habit makes it an ideal candidate for container gardening, small urban gardens, or as a dense, productive hedge.
Fast-Growing & Adaptable – Thrives in both full sun and partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soil types, though it prefers good drainage. It establishes quickly and begins fruiting at a young age.
Beautiful Ornamental Value – Features attractive, smooth, coppery bark that peels away to reveal a taupe underlayer, along with glossy, dark green leaves. It’s as beautiful as it is productive.
Untreated & Pure – Like all our plants, these seeds are sourced from naturally grown, chemical-free bushes in our food forest, guaranteeing you a healthy and wholesome start.

How to Grow Your Guava:
For best results, start your seeds in a pot or seed-raising tray, keeping the medium moist until germination occurs. Once seedlings develop 2-3 true leaves, carefully prick them out into individual small pots. Transplant to a larger container or their final position in the garden when the root system is well-established and visible at the drainage holes. They perform excellently in well-drained soil and slightly raised garden beds.
