Peanut Butter Fruit Tree PLANT (Bunchosia glandulifera) – Fast-Growing & Delicious
Also known as: Caferana
Grow your own unique tropical treat! The Peanut Butter Fruit Tree is a fast-growing shrub or small tree that produces clusters of dark red, velvety berries. As the name suggests, the sweet, dense pulp has a unique and delicious flavour often compared to peanut butter or dried figs. It’s a conversation-starting fruit that is both fun to grow and delightful to eat.
Enjoy the berries fresh off the tree, or blend them into smoothies, add to milkshakes, bake into desserts, or dehydrate them for a nutritious snack. You can expect your first harvest of these unique berries within 2-3 years of planting.

Planting & Growing Tips
-
Initial Care: Upon arrival, give your plant a good drink and place it in a partially shaded, sheltered spot. Allow it to recover from its journey in the original pot for a few days before transplanting.
-
Transplanting: Re-pot or plant into the garden when roots begin to emerge from the drainage holes. Water thoroughly immediately after planting.
-
Position: Prefers a sunny to partially shaded spot with well-drained soil. It will not tolerate waterlogged conditions, so a slightly raised garden bed is ideal for healthy growth.
-
Care: An easy-to-grow plant that adapts to many soil types, though it will grow more vigorously in richer soil.
Additional Notes
-
Sun Acclimatisation: Our nursery plants are grown in semi-shade. To prevent sun shock, gradually introduce them to more sun over a week before planting them in their permanent position.
