The Loquat is an easy and quickly-growing fruit tree. It produces clusters of deliciously sweet and juicy fruit twice a year at our place. It will happily grow in subtropics and also in temperature climates. You can expect the first fruit within 4-5 years, depending on the soil and growing conditions. The leaves can be harvested, dehydrated, and used for tea. Planting and growing tips: Placing the seeds in water for 24 hours before putting them into the soil will speed up the germination process. Loquat is an easy-to-grow plant, that loves the sun and not much watering. The better the soil, the quicker and better it will grow. It doesn’t like to sit in water so a well-drained position is best. All our edibles grow happily and quickly in slightly raised garden beds.
