A Plant Full of Benefits:
While the beans are famous, the leaves are a hidden gem. Research published in the Annals of Botany shows that Arabica coffee leaves contain even higher levels of antioxidants than coffee or tea, which are beneficial for combating oxidative stress linked to heart disease and diabetes.

Planting & Growing Tips

  • Initial Care: Upon arrival, give your plant a good drink and place it in a spot with bright, indirect light. Allow it to recover from its journey in the original pot for a few days before transplanting.

  • Transplanting: Re-pot into a larger container or plant into the garden when roots begin to emerge from the drainage holes. Water thoroughly immediately after planting.

  • Position: Prefers bright, indirect light and rich, moist, well-draining soil. It will not tolerate waterlogged conditions.

  • Climate: This plant is frost-sensitive. Provide protection from cold winds and frost, especially when young. It adapts very well to life in a large pot indoors or on a patio.

  • Space: A compact grower that doesn’t require a lot of space, making it perfect for container gardening.

Additional Notes

  • Sun Acclimatisation: Our nursery plants are grown in partial shade. To prevent leaf scorch, gradually introduce them to brighter light over a week.

  • A Rewarding Journey: While it takes a few years for a plant to produce beans, the process of growing, harvesting, and roasting your own coffee is an incredibly fulfilling experience.

  • Disclaimer: As with any new food, we recommend you research before consumption. Please also see the full disclaimer in the footer of this page.
