Planting & Growing Tips
-
Initial Care: Upon arrival, give your plant a good drink and place it in a partially shaded, sheltered spot. Allow it to recover from its journey in the original pot for a few days before transplanting.
-
Transplanting: Plant into the ground when roots begin to emerge from the drainage holes. Water thoroughly immediately after planting.
-
Position: Adaptable and grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. For the most vigorous growth, provide plenty of space and rich soil.
-
Management: This is a very fast-growing grass. Regular cutting or grazing will help manage its size and encourage fresh, tender growth for fodder. It can be grown in a large pot, but will truly thrive planted directly in the ground.
Additional Notes
-
Sun Acclimatisation: Our nursery plants are grown in semi-shade. To prevent stress, gradually introduce them to full sun over a week before planting them in their permanent position.
-
Disclaimer: Please note our disclaimer in the footer of this page. While used as fodder, always introduce new plants to animals’ diets gradually.
