Planting and growing tips: Placing the seeds in water for 24 hours before putting them into the soil will speed up the germination process. Bottle gourd is an easy-to-grow plant, that loves the sun and moderate watering, however, the better the soil, the quicker and better it will grow. It doesn’t like to sit in water so a well-drained position is best. All our edibles grow happily and quickly in slightly raised garden beds. The first beans should form within a couple of months after sowing depending on the growing conditions.

Additional notes:

  • The price is for five seeds, naturally grown in my permaculture food forest in Pacific Haven QLD Australia, well established, and ready to plant. I am sending it to QLD, NSW, SA, and Victoria in Australia only. Pick up by appointment only.
  • Most of our nursery plants grow in a half-shade. Introducing them to the sun slowly will promote their healthy growth after replanting to their permanent position.
